Don’t forget 33.5×33.5 2018

Sometimes you need to build something simple over the ruins of something ugly, and as shitty as that is, it’s also very cathartic. I paint best when I’m not thinking, and let the brushstroke flow through me. If I could afford someone to hit me on the head every time I started stressing about what goes where in a painting, I’d be a lot more successful. I’ve trained for decades to do this, but my critical side keeps trying to jump in and tell me I’m doing it wrong. Shut up critical side. You’re not helping.
